Dhaka:The French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, has praised Bangladesh's efforts to enhance its global connectivity through the development of a competitive national airline. This initiative aims to better integrate Bangladesh with international networks.
According to United News of Bangladesh, The Ambassador emphasized that France is willing to aid Bangladesh in its modernization journey, particularly in the civil aviation sector, beyond merely acquiring new aircraft. A contract signing between Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Airbus marked the beginning of a long-term partnership, with the deal encompassing not just aircraft purchases but also a range of support services such as training, spare parts, and engineering assistance.
Airbus, headquartered in Toulouse, France, exemplifies European industrial excellence. The company has pledged to collaborate with Biman and the Bangladeshi government to advance the broader aviation ecosystem, focusing on areas like skills development, maintenance, and fleet planning.
The acquisition includes four wide-body A350s and six narrow-body A321s, with the strategic mix intended to offer high fuel efficiency, reduced seat-mile costs, and operational commonality across various routes.
