Dengue Outbreak Claims Eight Lives and Hospitalizes 1,860 in Bangladesh

Barishal:Health officials reported 1,860 new cases of dengue, resulting in at least eight deaths over the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) announced that among the newly hospitalized patients, 200 were in Barishal division, 216 in Chattogram division, 347 in Dhaka division, with an additional 171 in Dhaka South City Corporation and 212 in Dhaka North City Corporation. Khulna division reported 376 hospitalizations, Mymensingh division 110, Rajshahi division 176, Rangpur division 38, and Sylhet division 14.

Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has recorded 289 fatalities and 92,216 infections. Last year, dengue was responsible for 413 deaths and affected 102,861 individuals in the country.
