Police Return 53 Stolen Mobile Phones to Owners in Rangamati

Rangamati:The 18 Armed Police Battalion (APBn) in Rangamati has successfully returned 53 stolen mobile phones and Taka 17,000, which had been mistakenly transferred through bKash, to their rightful owners after recovery.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the recovered items were handed over to their owners during a press briefing at the conference room of the APBn Battalion at Reserve Bazar Mosque Market in the district town around 11:00 am. Commanding Officer Md Rezaul Karim, who is also the Police Superintendent, facilitated the return of the mobile phones and money to their respective owners.

During the briefing, the police superintendent highlighted that the success was achieved through the continuous efforts of the Cyber Crime Cell of the 18 APBn, based on General Diaries (GDs) filed by the victims. He also mentioned that the unit had rescued two missing persons through technological tracking and provided emergency assistance to a citizen via the National Emergency Service 999.

The superintendent emphasized the ongoing commitment of the Cyber Crime Cell to ensure public safety and prevent crime, stating that they will continue to work towards making technology-based services more accessible and efficient.

The event was attended by Deputy Commander Md Enayet Karim, PPIM, along with senior police officials and members of the battalion's Cyber Crime Cell.
