Pabna:Police have recovered the charred body of a businessman from a field in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna district on Tuesday, following his disappearance the previous day.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased was identified as 38-year-old Suprabhat Modok, son of Satyacharan Modok of Ahmadpur village. He operated a hotel business at Kashinathpur Bazar.

Suprabhat had visited a doctor on Monday for his wife's check-up and told her he would return home later. When he failed to do so, his family reported his disappearance to Aminpur Police Station that night.

Local residents discovered his body in a field behind his house around 8 a.m. on Tuesday and alerted the police. Officer-in-Charge Fazle Elahi of Aminpur Police Station stated that it appears Suprabhat was murdered, though it remains unclear whether he was burned before or after his death.

The police are currently investigating the incident. The body has been sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, and the family is preparing to file a case.
