Dengue Cases Surge in Khulna Division with 302 New Hospitalizations

Khulna:Dengue infection continues to spread as 302 new patients were admitted to hospitals across Khulna division in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate of Health Services reported that among the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 231 were admitted to government hospitals while 71 were admitted to private ones.

The mosquito-borne disease has claimed three more lives in the division within this period, increasing the death toll to 55 this year. Since January 1, a total of 15,063 dengue cases have been reported in the division, with 13,379 patients recovering and returning home. Currently, 1,263 patients are still receiving treatment in various hospitals.

Additionally, 366 patients have been transferred to other hospitals for better treatment options. Khulna district has recorded the highest number of dengue cases in the division, with 5,798 reported cases. Khulna Medical College and Hospital alone has detected 2,988 dengue patients.
