Dhaka:Pakistan need 212 runs to beat India and win the men's cricket gold medal at the Asian Games after India posted 211-6 in their 20 overs.
According to United News of Bangladesh, India, after being sent in to bat first, saw a strong performance from opener Abhishek Sharma, who scored 61 off 28 balls. Tilak Varma contributed significantly with an unbeaten 51 from 22 balls, while Shiv Dube added 27 off 18 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes.
For Pakistan, Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal each claimed two wickets. Minhas and Abrar Ahmed were the most economical bowlers, allowing 8.33 and 7.25 runs per over, respectively.
Pakistan began their pursuit positively, reaching 11-0 after the first over. Jasprit Bumrah, who started with a no-ball, put pressure on opener Sahibzada Farhan with two dot balls, but overstepped again, allowing Sadaqat Hussain to strike a boundary on the free hit.
Pakistan now requires 201 runs from 19 overs to secure the gold medal.
