Dengue Death Toll in Rangpur Division Climbs to Eight

Rangpur:The death toll from dengue in Rangpur division has increased to eight this year following the death of a 35-year-old woman at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased, identified as Rumi from Pirganj upazila, was undergoing treatment for dengue symptoms when she passed away. Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md Wazed Ali confirmed the information.

In the last 24 hours, 75 new dengue patients have been admitted to government hospitals across the Rangpur division. Since January 1, a total of 2,522 patients with dengue symptoms have been hospitalized in the division. Out of these, eight have died, 2,288 have recovered and returned home, while 226 are currently receiving treatment.
