Stolen Church Bell Recovered in Mohammadpur

Mohammadpur:Police have successfully recovered a 70-kg brass bell that was stolen from Saint Paul School and Church in Mohammadpur.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the bell was found abandoned beside a dustbin on Zakir Hossain Road at approximately 250 a.m. on Friday. It was wrapped in a white polythene bag, as reported by Officer-in-Charge Abdul Halim of Mohammadpur Police Station.

The theft occurred in the early hours of Thursday from an open space on the first floor of the church, located at 92 Asad Avenue, across from the WASA building. A case has been filed with the Mohammadpur Police Station regarding the incident.

Investigations are underway to determine why the CCTV recording of the church ceased before the theft. Police are also examining footage from other CCTV cameras in the vicinity and are actively working to identify and apprehend those involved in the theft.
