Dhaka:Liberation War Affairs State Minister and Dhaka-6 MP Ishraque Hossain announced on Friday that measures will be taken against individuals misusing the party identity for wrongdoing.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Ishraque emphasized the need to identify and address those who stray from the BNP's political principles and ideology. Speaking at a reception for meritorious students at Ray Saheb Bazar in the capital, he highlighted that while the ruling party's identity is often misused by those in power, the same cannot be said for the opposition.

He cited an example where Prime Minister Tarique Rahman acted with 'zero tolerance' in a recent incident, leading to a Member of Parliament's resignation after an investigation. Ishraque urged party leaders and activists to stay vigilant and ensure that any misuse of the party identity is identified and addressed promptly.

He expressed confidence in the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliate organizations in Dhaka-6, trusting their commitment to honest politics. Ishraque also urged patience in obtaining accurate information, while cautioning against propaganda against the government. He assured that the public would evaluate the government's actions based on their own assessments.

Addressing local issues, Ishraque acknowledged gas and electricity shortages but noted improvements, with plans for long-term energy security being developed. He encouraged constituents to report any problems for swift resolution. Leaders of the Ray Saheb Bazar Panchayat Committee and various BNP leaders attended the event.
