Dhaka:A court has granted remand terms for four individuals involved in an incident at Bangla Motor where a youth was assaulted and blank shots were fired.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the main accused, Ferdous Ahmed Saimon, received a four-day remand, while Omar, 32, Morshed, 25, and Md. Shawon, 25, were each remanded for three days. The remand orders were issued by Metropolitan Magistrate Israt Jahan after police presented the four in court, seeking a seven-day remand for each.

The case statement details that the complainant, Md. Sohan, was allegedly demanded extortion money by Saimon in the New Eskaton area on Thursday. Upon refusing to pay, Sohan was reportedly threatened with a pistol and struck with the weapon's butt. Later, as Sohan sought medical treatment at a pharmacy, the accused allegedly attacked him again, firing three blank rounds. Locals eventually detained Saimon and handed him over to the police. Sohan then filed a case at Hatirjheel Police Station regarding the incident.
