Khulna:The 01 batch of Khulna University commemorated its silver jubilee with a daylong reunion on campus, celebrating 25 years of academic and professional achievements.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was organized by the KU-01 Alumni Network, gathering former students in a festive atmosphere. The celebration kicked off with a colorful procession led by KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim.
Before the procession, the vice-chancellor, along with alumni, planted a tree on the campus. During a brief discussion meeting, Prof Rezaul Karim expressed immense joy and pride, emphasizing the university's role in transforming young people's dreams into reality. He highlighted the contributions of the university's extensive alumni network across various sectors and expressed hope for their continued involvement.
KU Registrar Prof Dr SM Mahbubur Rahman and Student Affairs Director Prof Dr Md Salauddin also addressed the event as special guests. Remarks were made by KU-01 Alumni Network President Md Matiur Rahman and General Secretary Subrata Guha.
The program was co-hosted by Prof Dr Md Ashikur Rahman, director of the Office of International Affairs and an alumnus of the 01 batch, alongside Sabrina Aftab. The celebration included a cake-cutting ceremony, a milad mahfil after Juma prayers for deceased batch members, an afternoon cultural program, and a journey to the Sundarbans in the evening.
