Dhaka:One person succumbed to dengue, and 1,163 individuals were hospitalized after contracting the disease in the past 24 hours up to 800 am today, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the newly hospitalized dengue patients, 420 were admitted in Dhaka Division, 77 in Mymensingh Division, 333 in Chattogram Division, 111 in Khulna Division, 151 in Barishal Division, and 71 in Rangpur Division.
The report also detailed that a total of 82,761 dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country this year. The latest fatality brings the death toll from dengue to 250 for the current year.
Over the past 24 hours, 1,163 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, 76,861 dengue patients have recovered and returned home after treatment.
In comparison, last year saw 102,861 dengue infections and 413 deaths due to the disease.
