Rajshahi:The Kabir-Lalon Bhav Sangeet Festival took place in Rajshahi, organized by Lalon Bishwa Sangha in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The event is part of a series of cultural activities being held nationwide.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the festival was held at Lalon Shah Mukta Mancha in the evening, with Rajshahi City Corporation Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton as the chief guest. Attendees, including the chief guest, were welcomed with ceremonial scarves.
During the event, Riton highlighted the significance of Lalon's teachings, emphasizing their role in promoting harmony and humanity in Bangladesh. He remarked that Lalon's philosophy transcends social differences and is deeply intertwined with the nation's cultural heritage.
Riton further explained that the philosophies of Kabir and Lalon, which emphasize humanity, equality, love, and self-purification, remain pertinent today. He advocated for Lalon's teachings as a source of inspiration for fostering respect and empathy among people.
He also stressed the role of cultural activities in preserving national identity and heritage, noting that such events educate younger generations about cultural traditions. Riton described Rajshahi as a pivotal center for folk heritage and cultural activities, with the festival adding to the city's cultural vibrancy.
He expressed optimism that similar events across different regions would broaden the reach of Lalon's philosophy and Bhav Sangeet. Additionally, he advised city residents to stay vigilant against dengue.
The event was chaired by Abdel Mannan, chief executive of Lalon Bishwa Sangha, with Naharul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi, present as a special guest.
