Chattogram:Police have arrested 376 individuals over the past 24 hours across the 11 districts of the Chattogram Range. These arrests occurred during special anti-narcotics operations and routine case activities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrests consisted of 95 people in regular cases, 48 in prior cases, 34 under Section 34 of the Police Act, 10 under Section 54 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), 63 under Section 151 of the CrPC and other laws, 65 on arrest warrants, and 12 on conviction warrants.
In drug-related cases, 49 individuals were apprehended and identified as drug users. Additionally, 92 people, including 43 drug dealers, were detained across regular and other cases.
During the anti-narcotics drive, mobile courts sentenced 15 people to imprisonment and collected fines amounting to Taka 4,400. A total of 30 drug-related cases were filed during this period.
The police seized a significant quantity of drugs, including 17,188 Yaba tablets, 11.720 kilograms of cannabis, 17 liters of illicitly distilled liquor, 96 bottles of Phensedyl syrup, six bottles of foreign liquor, and two Tapentadol tablets.
Authorities stated that the special drive, conducted in the public interest, will continue.
