Chattogram:The maritime ports of Chattogram and Cox's Bazar have been advised to keep local cautionary signal No. 3 hoisted as a precautionary measure due to changing weather conditions.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deep depression over the North Andaman Sea and the adjoining Myanmar coast weakened into a land depression after crossing the Myanmar coast near Kyaikto. The transition to a land depression occurred over Myanmar and the adjoining Eastcentral and Northeast Bay at 6 am on Tuesday, as noted in a Met office bulletin.
The depression is expected to move north-northwestwards and weaken gradually. However, its influence may still result in squally weather affecting the maritime ports of Chattogram and Cox's Bazar, as well as the Northeast Bay and nearby coastal areas of Bangladesh.
Fishing boats and trawlers in the Northeast Bay have been advised to avoid venturing into the deep sea and to proceed with caution until further notice is given.
