Chuadanga:Bus services on five inter-district routes in Chuadanga have been suspended following alleged aggressive behavior and obstruction from easy-bike (battery-powered auto-rickshaw) drivers, causing significant inconvenience for commuters.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the suspension affects routes connecting Chuadanga with Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Kushtia, and other destinations. Passengers have been left stranded, struggling to reach their destinations on time, with people traveling for urgent purposes particularly impacted.
Nargis Begum, a passenger at Chowrasta intersection, expressed her frustration over the suspension, noting the difficulty in reaching her destination and the higher fares charged by alternative transport options. Another passenger reported facing difficulties due to the abrupt suspension while en route for urgent work, urging for a swift resolution to resume bus services.
Haji Abul Kalam Azad, president of the Chuadanga District Bus-Minibus Owners Association, stated that the aggressive actions by easy-bike drivers included threats of vandalism toward buses, leading to the suspension of services on the affected routes. He mentioned that discussions are ongoing to resolve the issue, and bus services will remain suspended until a satisfactory agreement is reached.
