MM2H Programme Generates RM8.85 Billion, Receives 7,650 Applications

Kuala Lumpur:The Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme has generated RM8.85 billion in economic value from October 1, 2024, to August 31, 2026, with significant contributions from property purchases and fixed deposits.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, over RM5 billion came from property purchases, while RM3.82 billion was from fixed deposits. Deputy Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Chiew Choon Man stated that the programme received 7,650 new applications across various categories, including Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Special Economic Zone.

Chiew highlighted that China led the applications with 3,847, followed by Taiwan with 1,054, Hong Kong with 324, Singapore with 287, and the United States with 284. The minister emphasized the programme's potential in enhancing Malaysia's foreign direct investment and its positive impact on the economy.

To expand the programme's reach, the MM2H One Stop Centre plans to conduct overseas sales missions targeting key markets such as Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea. Chiew also engaged with industry players and stakeholders at the 14th MM2H National Workshop 2026 to gather feedback and ensure the programme's ongoing success.

He reiterated the ministry's commitment to regulatory compliance, transparency, and integrity, aiming to maintain the programme's global reputation while addressing concerns raised by various stakeholders.
