Melaka:Musyawarah Nasional 3.0 - Membongkar Polemik Tanah Melayu has put forward three proposals aimed at enhancing the understanding of the Federal Constitution.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who founded Musyawarah Nasional, emphasized the importance of historical education as the first measure. He noted that children should be encouraged to explore historical sources and question interpretations, ensuring they remain accountable to facts. He highlighted the role of technology in spreading stories rapidly and the necessity of knowledge to assess their truthfulness.
The second proposal focuses on fostering a shared understanding of the nation's foundations, transcending educational backgrounds. Ahmad Zahid stressed the importance of every Malaysian child comprehending the history of the country's formation while adapting to global perspectives and maintaining awareness of their national responsibilities.
The third measure involves examining the need for a legal framework to uphold national harmony. Ahmad Zahid underscored the importance of addressing incitement of hatred while protecting academic research, fact-based debate, and legitimate criticism, ensuring a vibrant space for knowledge and preserving the shared way of life.
He also introduced the AKAR framework, which stands for Asal-Usul Difahami Dengan Ilmu (Understanding Our Origins Through Knowledge), Kenegaraan Berpaksikan Perlembagaan (Nationhood Rooted in the Constitution), Adab Mengurus Perbezaan (Managing Differences with Respect), and Rakyat Berkongsi Masa Depan (People Sharing a Common Future).
