Jamalpur:World Tourism Day 2026 was marked in the district with a focus on the theme "Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism".
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the district administration organized a rally followed by a discussion meeting to commemorate the occasion. The discussion took place in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office, where Advocate Shah Md Wares Ali Mamun, a local lawmaker, served as the chief guest.
During the meeting, the lawmaker highlighted Bangladesh's significant potential in the tourism sector. He emphasized the importance of implementing well-planned initiatives to develop attractive tourist destinations nationwide. Additionally, he stressed the need for ensuring safe communication and security to expand the tourism industry.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Yusuf Ali presided over the meeting, with Senior Assistant Secretary Ashraful Alam Rasel conducting the proceedings. Other speakers at the event included Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Azizul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Afsana Taslim, Bakshiganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Murad Hossain, Senior Information Officer Muhammad Jalal Uddin, and Press Club President Md Mukhlesur Rahman.
