Dhaka: Six additional deaths and 1,593 new hospitalisations due to dengue fever were reported across the country in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 am on Sunday. This surge in cases and fatalities marks a concerning trend in the ongoing health crisis.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the dengue death toll has now reached 184 for the current year, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). The recent fatalities include two deaths each in the Chattogram and Khulna divisions, and one each in the Dhaka and Barishal divisions.
Since the beginning of the year on January 1, hospitals across the country have admitted a total of 61,972 dengue patients. Out of these, 57,610 individuals have successfully recovered from the illness. The rising number of cases underscores the need for enhanced preventive measures and effective management of the outbreak to curb further spread.
