Dhaka: State Minister for Land Barrister Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin on Sunday urged field-level administration officials to work sincerely as servants of the people and ensure civic services reach people's doorsteps in remote areas. 'The administration of this government will by no means play the role of a ruler. Rather, it will work as a true servant of the people,' he said at a coordination meeting with divisional commissioners and officials of the Land Ministry at Secretariat.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the state minister emphasized that the current democratic, political, and elected government is committed to ensuring the delivery of civic services to people in remote areas through the field administration. He directed all officials involved in field administration to remain sincerely committed to serving people.
Referring to the government's goal of serving people under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Mir Helal urged the divisional commissioners to work through mutual cooperation, coordination, and complementarity to discharge their responsibilities effectively. Reminding government employees that the country's 18 crore people are its true owners, he said officials should always keep in mind that they are servants of the people.
Mir Helal also called for collective efforts to build a corruption-free land management system by developing a service-oriented mindset among officials. Land Ministry Senior Secretary AS M Saleh Ahmed chaired the meeting, attended by divisional commissioners from all divisions and senior officials of the ministry.
