Dhaka: U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia and its Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, announced that Bangladesh has committed billions of dollars to purchasing additional Boeing aircraft from the United States. This commitment stems from a new agreement between Dhaka and Washington, further strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Gor commended President Donald Trump for his economic strategies, labeling him the 'Greatest JOBS President in American History.' He emphasized that the recent agreement between President Trump and Bangladesh's Prime Minister, Tarique Rahman, marks a significant step forward. Bangladesh has agreed to invest billions in acquiring more Boeing aircraft, thereby augmenting their initial order.

Gor highlighted Trump's relentless efforts in generating high-paying jobs, attracting substantial investments, and revitalizing the economy. He expressed his admiration for Trump's dedication by stating, "Our President is Making America, and our partners, Great Again!"

In April, Bangladesh entered into a substantial agreement with Boeing to procure 14 planes for Biman Bangladesh Airlines. This order, valued at $3.7 billion, represents the largest in the airline's history. During his visit to Bangladesh from July 30 to August 1, Gor engaged in discussions with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, focusing on the political and economic aspects influencing Bangladesh-U.S. relations. Additionally, he visited the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, underscoring the expansive nature of the U.S.-Bangladesh partnership, as noted by the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka.
