Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 1,097 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement detailed that during the period, 123 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 116 in Chattogram division, 258 in Dhaka division, 109 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 82 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 243 in Khulna division, 81 in Mymensingh division, 76 in Rajshahi division, six in Rangpur division and three in Sylhet division.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year has witnessed 93 deaths while the disease has inflicted 34,783 individuals. In the previous year, dengue claimed 413 lives and affected 102,861 people in the country. In 2024, the dengue outbreak resulted in 575 deaths and impacted 101,214 individuals.
