Khulna: BNP Vice Chairman and lawmaker Barkatullah Bulu today emphasized the sacredness and deep connection of the name 'Zia' with the destiny of the people of Bangladesh. "Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman was the proclaimer of independence, and through his declaration, the nation achieved an independent and sovereign Bangladesh," stated Bulu.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bulu made these remarks as the chief guest at the Khulna Divisional Conference of Zia Mancha, held at the auditorium of the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's Office. He discussed the 2024 mass uprising, describing it as a result of prolonged struggle and a continuation of political movements led by former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
Bulu highlighted that Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia had never compromised with injustice and expressed hope that future leadership would uphold their ideals. Referring to Tarique Rahman, Bulu mentioned that Rahman carries the political legacy of Ziaur Rahman and would not compromise with injustice.
