Dhaka: Vehicular movement on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway under Gozaria upazila in the district has returned to normal. Md Alrazi Lyon, Sub-Divisional Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department, informed that the repair work began last night after a hole developed on Asharichar Bridge, which increased traffic pressure on the lane heading towards Dhaka.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the repair work was completed by 10am today, allowing vehicles to begin moving normally on both lanes of the bridge. Md Babul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Hasara Highway Police Station, stated that vehicular movement resumed after 10am, and traffic pressure had been easing since morning. However, it took some time for the situation to return to normal movement after the long tailback.

Currently, vehicles are moving at normal speed on the highway. Additional traffic police have been deployed at various points along the highway to prevent further congestion.
