Ghoraghat: Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Minister Prof Dr AZ M Zahid Hossain has urged all to extend cooperation to ensure good governance and building a discrimination-free Bangladesh. He made the call while addressing a post-Eid view exchange meeting at the Ghhoraghat Upazila Parishad Auditorium here today as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Zahid Hossain described BNP as a pro-people party that stands beside the people during any crisis. He encouraged the party’s leaders and activists to support distressed individuals of all religions, castes, and professions during times of need. He emphasized that people never forget the help or assistance provided during critical times.
Addressing the audience, the minister highlighted that social unity can be achieved through collective living and cooperation. He stressed that social order and compassion can only be maintained when everyone remains united.
During the event, Dr Zahid Hossain also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He called upon citizens to participate in various programs marking the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Ziaur Rahman on May 30. He requested special prayers to be offered in mosques, temples, and churches across the country according to respective religious traditions.
Among others present at the event were Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Ghoraghat Abdulla Al Mamun Kawsar Sheikh, Ghhoraghat-Hakimpur Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Haris Uddin, Rangpur Division BNP Co-Organizing Secretary Md. Aminur Islam, Upazila BNP President Shamim Hossain Chowdhury, and Municipal BNP President Abdus Sattar.
