Rajbari: Prime Minister’s Adviser on the ministries of Finance and Planning, Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, today announced that the upcoming national budget will focus on being youth and business friendly. The aim is to create employment opportunities by establishing new industries and factories.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Titumir highlighted existing challenges in the BSCIC industrial estate, where many plots remain unused due to bureaucratic delays. He emphasized that overcoming these hurdles and activating the industrial estate would be crucial for generating job opportunities for the nation’s youth.
Titumir also stressed the importance of developing youth through initiatives such as ‘Notun Kuri Sports’. He called for greater efforts in the sports sector, including identifying talented athletes at the union and upazila levels and promoting culture and human values. He noted that hardworking youths are a future asset for the nation, and the government aims to make them self-reliant through low-interest loans.
He also discussed the benefits of restarting closed industries to reduce youth unemployment and called for an industrial revolution to eliminate women’s inequality and encourage female entrepreneurship.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs, Ali Nawaz Mahmud Khayyam, addressed the meeting as a special guest, stating that authorities would soon engage with local residents to align development plans for the district. Public input would be valued in addressing long-standing local issues.
The meeting, chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Rajbari, Afroza Parveen, was attended by public representatives, distinguished citizens, and district-level officials. Notable attendees included Member of Parliament from Rajbari-2 constituency Harunur Rashid, and local dignitaries Abdus Salam Mia, Mohammad Manjur Morshed, Dr. SM Masud, and Enamul Kabir. Freedom fighters, business leaders, student representatives, journalists, and teachers from various schools and colleges were also present.
