Chattogram: Police have filed a case against 242 individuals, including 150 to 200 unidentified persons, for attacking law enforcers and vandalizing a joint forces camp in Chattogram’s Jungle Salimpur. Inspector Sohel Rana of the Faujdarhat police outpost, part of the Sitakunda Police Station, filed the case on Monday night. This information was confirmed by the station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohammad Mohinul Islam.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case names a total of 42 individuals, including five people arrested at the scene and local criminal leader Mohammad Yasin. Additionally, 150 to 200 unidentified individuals have been listed as accused. The case has been filed under various sections of the Explosives Act, citing charges of launching an armed attack on police, obstructing government work, and damaging government property.
The attack occurred at around 2 am on Sunday when armed individuals targeted and destroyed a newly constructed camp for the joint forces in the Alinagar area of Jungle Salimpur. Prior to the attack, the road leading to the camp was cut off at four locations to prevent law enforcement from reaching the scene quickly.
