Beijing: Bangladesh and China today engaged in discussions to expand their development financing cooperation, with a particular emphasis on concessional loans, investment, and preferential credit facilities aimed at supporting Bangladesh’s infrastructure and sustainable development priorities. This meeting marks a significant step in enhancing the bilateral economic partnership between the two nations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussions took place when Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman met with Dong Yangning, Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of China, at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing. The dialogue centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation in development financing, with a focus on boosting investment, expanding concessional loan facilities, and enhancing Preferential Buyer’s Credit arrangements for Bangladesh.
Both Bangladesh and China expressed optimism that deeper financial engagement would fortify their longstanding economic partnership. The anticipated financial support is expected to contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s long-term growth and development goals, underscoring the importance of this strategic partnership in addressing the nation’s development priorities.
