Rajshahi: Two delegations paid a courtesy call and held an exchange of views with Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi (RU) Professor Md. Faridul Islam today. The event took place in the conference room of Administrative Building-1 this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, one delegation was from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), led by Country Representative Kazuyuki Kataoka, and the other was from Gen Mirai Japan Group, led by Chief Executive Officer Yasuhiro Kawamoto. Constructive discussions were held with the JETRO delegation on various aspects of increasing potential cooperation with Japanese companies operating in Bangladesh, expanding investment, and strengthening academia-industry linkages.
With the Gen Mirai Japan Group delegation, discussions focused on expanding opportunities for higher education and employment in Japan through the introduction of Japanese language education programs. The RU Vice-Chancellor welcomed the initiatives of both delegations and assured them of necessary cooperation in this regard.
Also present during the meeting were Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Mohammad Main Uddin, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Farid Uddin Khan, Registrar Professor Iftikharul Alam Masud, Director of the Office of International Affairs Professor Muhammad Sazzadur Rahim, Assistant Director Professor Md. Atikul Islam, Administrator of the Public Relations Office Professor Md. Akhtar Hossain Majumdar, JETRO Dhaka Representative Tomotaka Minoura, and other concerned officials.
