Dhaka: The body of Zamil Ahamed Limon, one of the two Bangladeshi students at the University of South Florida who were killed, is set to arrive in Dhaka on May 4. Golam Mortoza, Minister (Press) at the Bangladesh Embassy in the US, conveyed via a WhatsApp message that the remains will reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on an Emirates flight at 8:40 am.

According to United News of Bangladesh, the body of Limon was received by a funeral home and will be transported from Orlando via an Emirates flight, departing at 8:50 pm on May 2. The first namaz-e-janaza for Limon is scheduled after Johr prayers at the Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area, Florida. Meanwhile, details about the second victim, Nahida Sultana Bristy, remain undisclosed.

Both Limon and Bristy, 27-year-old doctoral students, went missing on April 16. Limon was last seen at the off-campus complex he shared with Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, the murder suspect, and another roommate. Detectives tracked Abugharbieh’s car and Limon’s phone to the location where Limon’s body was found on April 24, bearing stab wounds and appearing bound.

Authorities are still searching for Bristy, with a body recovered from a nearby waterway on April 26. Identification and autopsy reports are pending. The suspect, Abugharbieh, remains in custody without bond following his arrest by a SWAT team. Judge Logan Murphy has prohibited him from contacting witnesses or the victims’ families.

Abugharbieh faces charges of first-degree murder with a weapon, among others. Though the possibility of the death penalty looms, prosecutors have not yet decided on pursuing capital punishment. Initially denying involvement, Abugharbieh was noted to have a bandaged finger. Investigators, with the building manager’s assistance, accessed the apartment where a third roommate reported Abugharbieh’s suspicious activity of moving boxes overnight on April 16.
