Prime Minister Tarique Rahman Embarks on First Official Visit to Jashore

Dhaka: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka for Jashore by air on Monday morning on his first official visit to the district since assuming office. Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon confirmed that Tarique reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9:15am from his Gulshan residence. “The Prime Minister has departed for Jashore by a scheduled Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight,” he stated.

According to United News of Bangladesh, during the day-long visit, Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the Ulashi Canal excavation project in Sharsha upazila and address a civic reception there. Following this, after offering Zuhr prayers and having lunch at the Jashore Circuit House, he will lay the foundation stone of Jashore Medical College Hospital and visit Jashore Institute Public Library.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will address a public rally at Jashore Central Eidgah Ground, organised by the district BNP. He is expected to return to Dhaka by air in the evening afte
r completing his engagements. This marks Tarique Rahman’s first visit to Jashore as Prime Minister, his last visit to the district being on February 2, when he addressed an election rally at Jashore Upashahar Degree College Ground as BNP chairperson.
