Dhaka: Classes of first-year undergraduate students of the 2025-26 academic session at Dhaka University (DU) began today. The commencement of classes was marked by several orientation programs across different departments under the Faculty of Science, addressed by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Admin) Prof Dr Sayma Haque Bidisha, who attended as the chief guest and visited various classrooms.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, deans of faculties, chairpersons, and teachers of the relevant departments were present during these visits. During the classroom visits, they exchanged greetings with teachers and students, and congratulated the newly admitted students. They highlighted how these students had earned their spots at the university through highly competitive admission tests. They emphasized the importance of setting goals early in university life as a foundation for developing knowledge, wisdom, and talent.
In addition, the faculty urged the students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities alongside their academic pursuits. They also encouraged the development of language and organizational skills. The students were motivated to join social, cultural, and voluntary organizations to enhance their overall competencies.
The faculty members expressed their hope that this skilled young generation would play a crucial role in building a new Bangladesh.
