Japanese Ambassador Discusses Industrial Cooperation with Bangladesh Industries Minister

Dhaka: Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi today paid a courtesy call on Industries Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir at his office in Motijheel here. During the meeting, they discussed ways to expand cooperation in the industrial sector between the two countries.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Industries Minister highlighted Japan’s role as a long-standing development partner and a trusted friend of Bangladesh, significantly contributing to the country’s socio-economic development and industrialisation. He emphasized the need for further strengthening mutual cooperation in areas of shared interest.



The Japanese envoy assured that Japan would continue its support for Bangladesh’s development journey, consistent with past efforts. Additionally, he welcomed the proposal to establish a Ship Recycling Facility with a Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF) in Sitakunda, Chattogram, and mentioned that a rapid feasibility study would be conducted regarding this proposal.
