No Political Influence in ‘Farmer Card’ Distribution, Says Asaduzzaman

Jhenaidah: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman, MP, announced today that there is no opportunity for political consideration or irregularities in the distribution of farmer cards. The minister assured the public that the government will distribute these cards among small and marginal farmers across the country without any political bias.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Asaduzzaman made these remarks while speaking to journalists after distributing farmer cards in Abaipur Union under Shailkupa Upazila of Jhenaidah. In this initial phase of a pilot project, 1,679 farmers from the Kripalpur block of Abaipur Union received their cards.



The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to fulfilling its electoral promises, highlighting that agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000 have been waived for farmers. He also mentioned the initiation of the farmer card distribution and the implementation of canal excavation programs aimed at increasing agricultural production.



Asaduzzaman further stated that the government is continuously working towards enhancing the living standards of farmers. He reiterated the administration’s efforts to support the agricultural sector.



The event, marking the inauguration of the farmer card distribution, was held at Kripalpur Government Primary School in Abaipur Union. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman participated in the ceremony virtually. Other dignitaries in attendance included District Commissioner Noman Hossain, Superintendent of Police Mahfuz Afzal, District Council Administrator M. A. Majid, District BNP General Secretary Zahiduzzaman Mona, and Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Md. Kamruzzaman.
