Bangladesh Extends Humanitarian Support to Kuwait Amid Middle East Tensions

Dhaka: Bangladesh has expressed its readiness to provide humanitarian support to Kuwait as part of its ongoing commitment to regional solidarity in the Middle East. State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaed Islam, conveyed this assurance during a meeting with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ali Thunayun Abdulwahab Hamadah, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting underscored Bangladesh’s gratitude towards Kuwait for ensuring the safety and security of approximately 300,000 Bangladeshi expatriates residing in the Gulf nation. The Kuwaiti envoy expressed appreciation for Bangladesh’s swift demonstration of solidarity and its efforts to facilitate high-level communication between the two nations.



The State Minister reiterated Bangladesh’s advocacy for resolving conflicts peacefully through diplomacy and non-interference. Both parties also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, energy, infrastructure, ICT, and halal food. Bangladesh extended an invitation to Kuwaiti investors to explore opportunities within its Special Economic Zones and Hi-Tech Parks.



Further, the Kuwaiti ambassador acknowledged Bangladesh’s support in multilateral forums, such as the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). In return, the State Minister expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s continued assistance in the Rohingya humanitarian efforts.



Both officials agreed on the importance of high-level visits and regular bilateral engagements to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
