Dhaka: Prime Minister's Advisor on Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Labour and Employment ministries, Mahdi Amin, has announced that workers have safely returned to their homes with smiles on their faces, thanks to the effective initiatives and intensive supervision of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a different and delighted picture is being observed in the country's industrial zones during this Eid. In contrast to previous years, when unpaid salaries and bonuses led to labor resentment, this year has seen a significant shift. Mahdi Amin shared this information on his verified Facebook status, noting that an invisible anxiety that had prevailed across the country ahead of the Eid festival for several years has now dissipated.
In past years, labor unrest, unpaid salaries, road blockades, and uncertainty about returning home were common occurrences. However, this year's scenario is markedly different, with a sense of relief and satisfaction evident on the faces of the working people. The salary and Eid bonuses for most workers in various industrial sectors, including the ready-made garment (RMG) industry, were ensured ahead of time.
All factories have paid the February salary and Eid bonus peacefully, with most having also paid a significant portion of the current month's salary. This massive operation was made possible due to the direct instructions and supervision of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, coupled with the dedication of the Labour and Employment Ministry, according to the PM's adviser.
