Jamaat-e-Islami Candidate Afzal Hossain Wins From Kushtia-4

Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Afzal Hossain has been elected unofficially from Kushtia-4 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. He secured 148,201 votes while his nearest rival, BNP candidate Sayed Mehedi Ahmed Rumi, received 139,603 votes.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum, 197,013 voters cast ‘Yes’ votes while 85,696 others cast ‘No’ votes in this constituency. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon in the capital today.
