Dhaka: BNP candidate Md. Faridul Kabir Talukder has emerged victorious in the Jamalpur-4 constituency during the 13th national parliament election.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Talukder secured a total of 1,47,406 votes. His closest competitor, Mohammad Abdul Awal of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, garnered 44,947 votes.
In a related referendum, 1,22,778 people voted ‘Yes’, while 47,588 cast ‘No’ votes. The election results were officially declared at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban, Agargaon in the capital.
