Dhaka: BNP candidate Yeaser Khan Chowdhury has been elected unofficially from Mymensingh-9 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. He secured 85,761 votes, surpassing his nearest rival, Bangladesh Development Party candidate AKM Anowarul Islam, who received 71,168 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum held alongside the election, 121,092 voters cast 'Yes' votes while 40,583 others cast 'No' votes in this constituency. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, marking a significant moment in the capital today.
