Dhaka: BNP candidate Md Mostafizur Rahman Babul has been elected unofficially from Jamalpur-3 constituency in the 13th National Parliament Election. He secured 207,412 votes while his nearest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Mojibur Rahman Azadi, received 81,430 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum, 227,445 voters cast ‘Yes’ votes, while 53,897 others cast ‘No’ votes in this constituency. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon of the capital.
