Dhaka: BNP candidate Dr Muhammad Osman Faruque has been elected unofficially from Kishoreganj-3 constituency in the 13th National Parliament Election. He secured a total of 112,466 votes, outpacing his nearest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Jehad Khan, who received 102,476 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the referendum, a total of 143,571 voters cast 'Yes' votes, while 61,393 others cast 'No' votes in this constituency. The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon in the capital today.
