Khulna: BNP candidate for the Khulna-4 constituency, Azizul Bari Helal, who also serves as the party’s Central Information Affairs Secretary, has unveiled a comprehensive 74-point election manifesto. The announcement was made at his residence in Aichgati village of Rupsha upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Helal’s manifesto promises significant developments if he is elected as a Member of Parliament. A key highlight of his agenda is the construction of a second bridge over the Bhairab River to establish direct connectivity between Khulna city and the Rupsha, Terokhada, and Dighalia upazilas. Additionally, Helal committed to completing the ongoing Nagarghat and Railgate bridge projects and addressing river erosion issues at the Ataie and Bhairab rivers by constructing sustainable embankments.

The manifesto also outlines plans to boost local industries and agriculture. Helal aims to establish small and cottage industries in abandoned jute godowns and make waterlogged lands cultivable through effective drainage systems. Other infrastructural promises include the renovation of the Deura ferry terminal and nationalisation of Alhaj Sarwar Khan Degree College. Efforts to enhance community engagement include renovating playgrounds and promoting youth involvement in sports.

Further commitments from Helal include the revival of Star Jute Mill and setting up a police outpost in risk-prone areas of Terokhada. He also plans to introduce ferry services at the Bhattacharya (Hardboard) terminal, ensure fair wages for workers, modernise the Hajigaon Mini Stadium, and enlist the Kabi Krishnachandra Institute under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The manifesto concludes with a pledge to create employment opportunities through new industrial projects.

The event was attended by notable figures such as BNP Central Committee member Khan Rabiul Islam Rabi, district BNP joint conveners Molla Khairul Islam and GM Kamruzzaman Tuku, Professor Monirul Haque Babul, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, and other party leaders.
