Lakshmipur: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie announced that employment opportunities will be created and an unemployment allowance introduced if the BNP comes to power in the next Jatiya Sangsad elections. He assured that no one will remain unemployed in the country should the BNP form the next government.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Annie made these remarks while addressing a yard meeting organized by the Mohila Dal Ward No. 1 unit of Lakshmipur municipality. He emphasized that if the BNP comes to power, new employment avenues and overseas labor markets would be developed.

Annie also recalled the contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, stating that Zia became a leader of the masses by initiating canal-digging programs, which is why the BNP is recognized as the party of the people. He noted that Zia created labor markets in the Middle East during his tenure, which was later expanded by Begum Khaleda Zia, bolstering the country’s economy.

Annie expressed concern over the health condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, describing it as critical and urging everyone to pray for her early recovery. He highlighted the importance of reaching out to mothers and sisters to ensure the victory of the paddy sheaf candidate, noting that women are leading the country and that the nation has progressed. Annie pledged that the rights of women will be ensured if the BNP comes to power.

The meeting was attended by BNP Lakshmipur Municipality unit President Rezaul Karim Liton, BNP leader Arifur Rahman, District Mohila Dal General Secretary Fatema Akhter Sumi Bhuiyan, and others. Hundreds of women from different parts of the district participated in the program.
