Three Women Honored with ‘Joyita Padak’ for Societal Contributions in Narsingdi

Narsingdi: Three women were honored with the prestigious ‘Joyita Padak’ for outstanding contributions in different fields of society in the district. A discussion meeting was held in Shibpur upazila marking Begum Rokeya Day and the International Day for the Prevention of Violence against Women, where the awards were presented.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programme, organized by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Women’s Affairs Office, took place at the Upazila Conference Room under the theme, ‘Let’s unite to stop violence against women and girls, ensure digital security.’ The event celebrated the achievements of Rashida Begum for economic success, Jahanara Begum for education and employment, and Chhabikunnahar for social development. Each awardee was felicitated as ‘Joyita’ and received crests and certificates of honor from the guests.



Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Yasmin presided over the program and spoke about the ideals of Begum Rokeya, emphasizing the collective responsibility to prevent violence against women and ensure digital security. The programme was moderated by Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Raoshan Gul Firdous and attended by prominent officials including Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Abdur Rahim, Officer-in-Charge of Shibpur Police Station Mohammad Kohinur Mia, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohsina Jannat Toron, Upazila Youth Development Officer Shamim Ahmed, and others.
