Rajshahi: A 10-day BSCIC Entrepreneurs Fair-2025 concluded in Rajshahi today, emphasizing the enhancement of the region’s economic condition by promoting its industrial sector. The fair, organized by the district office of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), took place on the Lalon Open Stage premises near the bank of the river Padma.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fair showcased a wide variety of locally produced industrial goods across 70 stalls. The products on display included leather items, jute-made products, processed agricultural goods, electrical and electronic items, clothing, design and fashion wares, among others. The event aimed to highlight the diverse industrial capabilities of the region.
The closing ceremony was addressed by several key figures, including Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohinul Hassan, Superintendent of Police Naimul Hassan, BSCIC Regional Director Shafiqul Islam, Deputy General Manager Rafiqul Islam, and President of the Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Masudur Rahman. In his address, Mohinul Hassan mentioned that the current interim government is actively working to create a business-friendly environment to support local entrepreneurs in revitalizing the industrial sector.
Efforts are underway to rejuvenate the region’s industrial sector, particularly the cottage industries, which are crucial for economic development. BSCIC Regional Director Shafiqul Islam highlighted that the fair was organized to boost the visibility of handloom and cottage industrial products by preserving and promoting the skills of local artisans.
