Dhaka: BNP standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy today emphasized the pivotal role students have played in every major political change in the country. He highlighted the significant contributions made by students in historical movements, stating, “From the Language Movement in 1952 to the Education Movement in 1962 and the Mass Uprising in 1969 — all these movements succeeded under the leadership of students.”
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Gayeshwar made these remarks while addressing a discussion titled “The Thoughts of Youth in Shaping the State in Light of the 31-Point Plan for Rebuilding State Infrastructure.” The event was hosted by a pro-BNP platform at a club in the city’s Uttara area.
During the discussion, Gayeshwar also touched on the importance of considering public sentiment in the current political scenario. He stressed the need to align political strategies with the aspirations and needs of the public.
The event, chaired by BNP’s Dhaka North Metropolitan member secretary Hazi Mustafa Zaman, also featured speeches by joint conveners Mostafizur Rahman Segun, M Kafil Uddin Ahmed, Afaz Uddin Afaz, Dr Md Amirul Islam, and Dhaka University Chhatra Dal joint general secretary Abidul Islam Khan.
