Chattogram: International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh organized a day-long workshop on 'Capacity building of MSMEs and Women Entrepreneurs' for using ICC Rules in International Trade on Saturday in a city hotel, Chattogram. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and women entrepreneurs involved in international trade, particularly in exporting non-traditional goods.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the workshop provided participants with the opportunity to learn about ICC Rules on international trade. It focused on helping attendees understand the intricate global trade finance landscape and make informed decisions to mitigate risks associated with the settlement of Letters of Credit (L/Cs).
The workshop was part of ICC HQs. capacity-building projects, designed to assist SMEs and women entrepreneurs in comprehending various ICC rules such as UCP 600, Incoterms 2020, and ISBP, essential for the export-import business. Since 2024, ICC Bangladesh has organized four such workshops, attracting 300 SME participants and women entrepreneurs.
The event was inaugurated by ICC Bangladesh Secretary General Ataur Rahman, with A T M Nesarul Hoque, Executive Vice President of Mutual Trust Bank, conducting the workshop. A total of 95 participants, including bankers, women entrepreneurs, and SMEs, attended the session.
