Chattogram: The Petroleum and Mining Engineering (PME) Department of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is set to host a national workshop titled "National Workshop on Occupational (EHS) and Process Safety 2025" starting tomorrow. The program will be led by Professor Dr. Abu Sadat Muhammad Sayem, who is the Head of the PME Department.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a press conference was recently held in the seminar room of the PME Department at CUET, where Professor Dr. Sayem shared details of the workshop through a written statement. He was accompanied by Assistant Professors Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mohammad Mamun Ur Rashid, Amit Das, and Abu Sayem Biswas from the department.
The event will feature Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of Sonali Bank, as the chief guest. Additionally, Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of CUET, will participate as the guest of honor, while Professor Dr. Kazi Afzalur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing, and Mohammad Mamun-ur-Rashid, National Workshop Convener and Assistant Professor of the PME Department, will join as special guests.
The workshop will see the participation of 57 professionals from 31 industrial organizations, including Jamuna Oil Company, Meghna Petroleum Limited, Eastern Refinery Limited, and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation. Moreover, teachers and officials from both public and private universities will be present. A total of 141 individuals, which includes 84 students and fresh graduates from various universities and organizations, are also expected to attend this significant event.
