651 Fresh Dengue Cases Detected Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 651 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, of the 651 cases, 129 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 98 in Chattogram division, 120 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 117 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 120 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 13 cases were reported in Khulna division, 29 in Mymensingh division, 22 in Rajshahi division, and three in Sylhet division, as detailed in a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts this year, Bangladesh has witnessed 278 deaths, with the disease affecting 70,513 individuals. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives and afflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
